With lockdown restrictions still underway in various parts of the country I, like many of you out there have resorted to a lot more of online shopping than I’m used to. From ordering groceries and snacks for the house to electronics and cleaning essentials I’ve ended up trying it all and realised how tricky it can really be. So I’m here to share a few really important tips that I’ve learnt from my online shopping escapades.

Always make sure you check pictures from customer feedback to get an idea about the quality of your veggies.

I always started out by ordering smaller quantities and went ahead with bigger quantities with places I was more comfortable with. Being the snack-hoarder that I am, ordering packaged food was definitely much easier for me, I knew exactly what I wanted. One of the most important things to look out for when it comes to packed products is the “expiry date” or “best before” date in the description.
You can also check if the products are vegetarian or not, they’ll usually have a green or red icon respectively. For soaps, body wash, sanitary pads and basically and basically any other body care products, Amazon, Flipkart or Nykaa & Purplle are your best bet. Of the four, I’ve realised that while Amazon and Flipkart have an unimaginable range of products What’s tricky is to make sure you end up with genuine and high quality products. The easy tip here is to pick a good seller, so if the re-seller that’s actually selling the product on the website is highly rated and has good customer feedback, then that’s your best bet.
Some of the things I’ve bought so far are soaps, sanitary napkins, face creams and even body lotions, some of which were slightly difficult to get my hands on from medical stores. So far, by checking the seller ratings and picking good brands I’m pretty happy with my purchases. Sanitizers for different products & various cleaning supplies have become somewhat of a staple in all our households! But the shortage in these supplies led me to go onto online websites to get my fix. I realised there are a lot of medically specialised websites that deliver these kinds of supplies and have a lot better availability Some of these websites include Wellness Forever & 1MG.
You can also use these websites to get other medical supplies While ordering sanitizing or cleaning products make sure to go through the ingredients to make sure to make sure they will be effective and that you aren’t allergic to any of these. Try to opt for sanitizers that say “safe for skin” especially for objects you will use more often. I was fortunate enough to get my hands on a new phone during this lockdown, which I ordered from Amazon. Electronics are usually a decent amount of investment so always make sure you do some good research on the brands and products you’re buying.
